Big Thief offer up ‘Double Infinity’ double header with ‘Grandmother’ and ‘Los Angeles’
‘Grandmother’ is the first song all three members wrote together, and also features Laraaji.

Having announced plans for their sixth album ‘Double Infinity’ back in June, Big Thief have treated us to not one but two new singles from the LP: ‘Grandmother’ and ‘Los Angeles’.
The first track to be penned by the whole trio, ‘Grandmother’ also features multi-instrumentalist Laraaji on backing vocals and zither, and finds Adrianne Lenker lyrically considering complex familial relationships, musing on the powerful bonds - both good and bad - that bind generations together.
‘Los Angeles’, meanwhile, is a love song in the deepest sense, exploring the metamorphosis of a partner becoming a friend; though two people may no longer be together, their connection can adapt and endure.
Due to hit shelves on 5th September via 4AD, ‘Double Infinity’ will act as a follow up to Big Thief’s 2022 record ‘Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You’, and is set to contain nine tracks (including previously released singles ‘Incomprehensible’ and ‘All Night All Day’).
Check out ‘Grandmother’ and ‘Los Angeles’ below.
