Black Foxxes share ‘Sæla’ video, announce UK/EU headline tour
The band’s new album ‘Reiði’ is out in March.
Black Foxxes recently announce details of their new album ‘Reiði’, set for release in March. We’ve now got the first play of the video for its first single ‘Sæla’.
A sky-reaching slice of emo, the track’s new video is a suitably atmospheric cut, seeing the Exeter trio shredding in a living room. ‘Sæla’ sees Black Foxxes treading poppier paths but without taming any of their consistent experimentation.
Speaking of the new record, the band’s Mark Holley tells us: “This whole album is based around light and dark, rage and happiness (reiði & sæla). This track was an obvious first pick for a single given its flowy nature and accessibility. It’s short, hooky and has this crazy fuzzy layered outro that ties up the track.
“Sæla is about a desire to leave a place that was starting to feel stagnant, I think it’s Foxxes at our poppiest but it’s still got all the undertones of darkness stacked amongst it. I remember watching the film ‘Hunt For The Wilderpeople’ before we headed out to Europe for a show and fell in love with that phrase (and the film) and jotted some lyrics down on the trip that were inspired by it.”
The band are also set to take ‘Reiði’ out on their biggest headline tour to date, coming to the UK and Europe through late March and April. A London show falls on 6th April at London’s Heaven.
