Black Honey’s Tarantino dreams are alive with the ‘Hello Today’ video
Group’s ace new single now has a Nadia Lee Cohen-directed clip.
Black Honey have been making cinematic, in-your-face pop for ages, but they’ve only just unveiled their first ever video.
It’s been a long time coming, but it’s well worth the wait. Directed by Nadia Lee Cohen, the video for ‘Hello Today’ finds Black Honey’s Izzy B Phillips starring in a Hollywood, Tarantino blockbuster.
Izzy’s haunted by a fly-infested human heart. There’s clearly something on her conscience, as she rides from motel to motel in a pursuit away from the gross, revenge-seeking heart. “It’s about a girl who is trying to put her demons behind her. She is followed by an omen that is symbolized by an ever-present human heart. The omen drives her to delirium, and in an attempt to escape her past, she drives into the desert to bury the heart before the sun sets,” Izzy told Nylon, explaining the concept.
