Bloc Party confirm details of new album ‘Hymns’

Having already offered up the title, the band have announced plans to release their fifth album in January.

Having showcased their first new material in two years last week, Bloc Party have now firmed up plans for their new album.

‘Hymns’ - the title of which frontman Kele Okereke has previously revealed - will be released on 29th January 2016, and will be eleven tracks in length.

News of the band’s fifth record follows on from their new track ‘The Love Within’, which was showcased on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show last Monday, and can be heard below.

The tracklisting of ‘Hymns’ - which will be the first Bloc Party album to feature new members Justin Harris and Louise Bartle - is as follows.

There’ll also be a deluxe edition of the album boasting four additional tracks (‘Eden’, ‘Paradiso’, ‘New Blood, ‘Evening Song’), while the album itself will be released on CD, vinyl and digital download formats.

After a run of a few American shows back in August, the band are set to play their first UK and European live dates in over two years this November and December, with a London show at St John’s Church in Hackney set for 4th December.
