Bloc Party reveal plans for new album ‘Anatomy Of A Brief Romance’
The indie stalwarts’ seventh LP promises to be their most personal, candid record to date.

Bloc Party have returned in mighty fashion, having just announced that they’ll be releasing a brand new album entitled ‘Anatomy Of A Brief Romance’ on 11th September via their own record label cOnTAGIOUS LTD (via Virgin Music Group).
The follow up proper to 2022’s ‘Alpha Games’ (since which they’ve shared special editions of 2007’s ‘A Weekend In The City’ and their 2005 debut ‘Silent Alarm’), this seventh LP was produced by Trevor Horn (Grace Jones, Pet Shop Boys, Frankie Goes To Hollywood) and has been described by the band as their most personal project ever.
Speaking about the album - a chronological account of an intense, unexpected relationship he had following his split from the father of his children - frontman Kele Okereke has shared: “every lyric you’re hearing on this record was something that actually happened to me. I had to tell the story, from start to finish.”
Introducing us to the intoxicating world of ‘Anatomy Of A Brief Romance’ is lead single ‘Coming On Strong’, which pulls no punches in its propulsive but vaguely insidious exploration of that initial spark. Listen to it for yourself down below.
