Bloc Party debut new songs at BBC 6 Music Maida Vale show

Watch the band run through ‘The Good News’ and ‘Exes’.

This morning (5th October), Bloc Party played their first UK show in over two years with a Maida Vale set for BBC Radio 6 Music’s live series.

During the show, Kele Okereke and co. debuted two new tracks - ‘Exes’ and ‘The Good News’. The seven-song set also saw them performing to tracks from debut ‘Silent Alarm’ - ‘Banquet’ and ‘This Modern Love’, where they were joined by a choir.

Okereke used the show as a chance to introduce “Bloc Party MK2”. Since previous album ‘Four’, the line-up’s changed, welcoming in new bassist Justin Harris and Louis Bartle on drums. Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong recently left the group.

Bloc Party are set to officially share the first song from their fifth album tonight, with Annie Mac debuting a track on BBC Radio 1 as a Hottest Record. During the 6 Music set, Okereke also claimed he’d be revealing the album title “later today”.
