Bloody Knees live up to their name with ‘Stitches’ track
New song recites this one time Bloody Knees took ‘what goes on tour…’ a bit too far.
It’s a tale that’s once been regaled by Wolf Alice to DIY. As the story goes (to paraphrase), Theo Ellis was mucking around with Bloody Knees. They decided to dive headfirst into various eateries after the automatic doors opened. One incident - in McDonalds, classily - ended in, well, a fair few ‘Stitches’.
“I’m covered in blood / but at least I’m having fun,” runs the summary of young Bradley Griffiths’ story. It’s recounted in the band’s forthright, brilliantly disgusting new track, taken from an EP of the same name. It’s so grimly detailed you can practically see the gormless, bloodied faces, the chipped teeth and the grazed chins. Nasty as hell - but that’s Bloody Knees, right?
The EP itself is out 25th August via Dog Knights Productions. Catch up with ‘Daydream’, which came out earlier this month.
Bloody Knees play the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading & Leeds this year.
