Blur share new documentary on the making of new album, ‘The Magic Whip’
New film features exclusive footage from trips to Asia.
Blur have shared a documentary that details the making of latest album ‘The Magic Whip’. The quartet’s new LP, and their first album in twelve years, entered the Official Album Chart at #1 upon release last week via Parlophone,
Titled, ‘The Magic Whip: Made In Hong Kong’, the thirty-minute film features the band recording ‘Go Out’, and interviews with all of the members who discuss the album’s sonic qualities and initial conception. The feature also shows exclusive and extensive footage of the group travelling Asia, including Damon Albarn’s trip to North Korea, which inspired the album track ‘Pyongyang’.
As reported earlier today (5th May), Blur have announced warm-up headline dates in Glasgow, Blackpool and Llandudno, arriving ahead of their BST Hyde Park and Isle of Wight shows. The three shows in June are as follows:
09 Glasgow, Barrowlands
10 Blackpool, Empress Ballroom
11 Llandudno, Cymru Arena
Tickets for the new live dates go on sale at 10am, Friday 8th May via their official website.
