Bon Iver mural appears in Brooklyn ahead of Eaux Claires Festival
Justin Vernon’s hinting at brand new music this weekend.

Ahead of Bon Iver’s Eaux Claires Festival - where he’s promised to play brand new music - a mysterious 22 Days mural has popped up in Brooklyn neighbourhood Greenpoint. It matches the recently-updated visuals on all of Justin Vernon’s social media gubbins, and as Reddit users point out, it appears to be the work of Brooklyn mural artist J. Penry.
Justin Vernon’s been banging on about the number 22 since posting a teaser video with possible new music, exactly 22 days ahead of his festival. Now, with the big event happening this weekend (12th-13th August, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin) he’s upping the ante, and strongly hinting at that new music airing once again.
Perhaps Bon Iver got the idea from his old pal James Blake - who also teased his own record ‘The Colour in Anything’ with a bit of snazzy wall painting by beloved illustrator Quentin Blake?
