Bon Iver has revealed he’s planning on working with Alicia Keys, an intention that is just one of many projects the singer has his sights set on.
Vernon told USA Today:
‘I have a big idea to do an American songbook of the greatest women singers. There are so many: Casey (Dienel) from White Hinterland, Bonnie Raitt, Alicia… (I’d make) a one-off charity album to have an excuse to work with a bunch of people that I’d choose to work with, all at once.’
He went on to reveal that we may have to wait a while for a conventional Bon Iver record:
‘It could be five (years). It just depends when the songs come about. I sort of have to wait ‘til they reveal themselves.’
Bon Iver also mentioned how he’s working on a new album with Volcano Choir ‘for the Japanese market’ and has another project on the side which is a ‘sort of blues-gospel band.’
He says all this, but how much of it is actually true? Remember all that rubbish Sufjan used to spout…
