Brandon Flowers working on new solo album
The follow-up to ‘Flamingo’ is expected in 2015.
Brandon Flowers is reportedly working on a new solo album.
The Killers frontman revealed to NME that he’s working with the man behind much of Haim and Sky Ferreira’s debuts plus Vampire Weekend’s ‘Modern Vampires of the City’, Ariel Rechtshaid, on the follow-up to his first solo effort, ‘Flamingo’, released back in 2010.
“He’s taking me out of my comfort zone,” Flowers says of the pair’s collaboration, which is currently pencilled in for a 2015 release. “At first we were butting our heads together, but now we’re hitting it off.”
He adds that this album is likely to take much less influence from his home city of Las Vegas than that debut so obviously did, “People are going to interpret it how they will, but there’s only a little bit of Vegas in there.”
The Killers headlined this year’s V Festival alongside Justin Timberlake, and have no future live plans currently announced. Their last album release was 2013’s best-of collection, ‘Direct Hits’.
