Brian Wilson doesn’t mince his words, explains why Lana Del Rey and Frank Ocean aren’t on his new album
Frank O didn’t make the cut because “he wanted to do rap.”
Frank Ocean and Lana Del Rey have been rumoured collaborators on Brain Wilson’s forthcoming new album, but the Beach Boys songwriter didn’t include them in the tracklist for ‘No Pier Pressure’.
At the time, a representative claimed that neither collaboration happened due to scheduling conflicts, but Wilson isn’t mincing his words.
Speaking to Vulture, Wilson explained exactly why neither collaboration happened:
“Well, Frank Ocean didn’t want to do the song. He wanted to do rap, so we canceled him. Lana Del Rey, uh, she just canceled out on us,” he said.
‘No Pier Pressure’ is out 7th April, with She & Him, Kacey Musgraves and Nate Russ set to feature.
