Brighton’s Heirloom offer up darkly tinged new video for ‘Speak In Tongues’

Their new film noir-esque clip lands ahead of their show at Brighton’s Hotel Pelirocco this week.

Brighton quintet Heirloom have offered up their thrilling new track ‘Speak In Tongues’, with a gorgeously dark video to accompany it.

Opening up with some particularly Pulp Fiction-ish guitar licks, the track’s an enticing slice of brooding but slick pop. The video, which comes directed and produced by Katia Ganfield, reflects its spirit perfectly, its film noir sensibilities paired with mesmerising, multi-coloured clips.

“‘Speak In Tongues is a comment on power and strength in vulnerability,” the band told us. “It‘s about letting go of your insecurities and fears of what you think is right or expected of you and putting yourself in a position where you can really explore yourself and find your limits.

“It was inspired by Catherine Rob Grillet aka Jean de Berg and her book Women’s Rites, through carefully and theatrically detailed ceremonies she encourages people to explore vulnerability within themselves, she constructs a world for her guests to be broken down in order to empower themselves.”

The track also lands ahead of a hometown launch show at Brighton’s Hotel Pelirocco, which takes place this Friday (16th November).
