Cancer Bats announce new album ‘Searching For Zero’

Toronto heavyweights Cancer Bats have returned and they’re bringing their fifth album with them. The Canadian four-piece will be releasing their new offering ‘Searching For Zero’ on 9th March through Noise Church Records / BMG Right, before returning to the UK for a six-date tour next April.

Their ten-track effort follows on from the band’s fourth effort ‘Dead Set On Living’ and was produced by Ross Robinson, who has previously worked with the likes of At The Drive-In, Slipknot and Glassjaw. The album gets headed up by lead track ‘Arsenic In The Year Of The Snake’, which was debuted on the Radio 1 Rock Show last night, and can be heard at the bottom of this article.

“We were coming out of what was a really heavy year for all of us, with a lot of challenges, non-stop touring and the deaths of people really close to the band. With all of these things we’ve had to deal with this past year, we were all at the point of saying ‘no more bullshit’, we’ve dealt with everything, nothing is standing in our way,” frontman Liam Cormier has said in a press release. “We’ve found our absolute zero, where there can no longer be a negative, and from that point, everything moving forward can only be positive.”

The band are going to be celebrating the release of their new album by returning to the UK next April, for six shows alongside While She Sleeps. Tickets for the tour go on sale this Friday (31st October) at 9am
