Cardinals offer up latest ‘Masquerade’ preview ‘I Like You’
The Cork outfit’s new single was written in just one morning, “after feeling slightly lost for months”.

Alt-rock auteurs and DIY Class of 2026 alumni Cardinals have shared new track ‘I Like You’, the next instalment of their forthcoming debut album ‘Masquerade’.
Due out on 13th February via So Young Records, the Cork five piece’s first full-length has already been introduced by way of recent singles ‘Anhedonia’, ‘The Burning of Cork’, and ‘Barbed Wire’. This latest cut, the band say, was “the first song [they] wrote with the album in mind”, and is a romantic, accordion-led ditty that takes lyrical inspiration from jazz standard ‘My Funny Valentine’.
Explaining more about its conception, Cardinals have recalled: “After a very long period of not working on anything, we started and finished this some bright morning last February in our practice studio. It felt cathartic, a completely grounding moment after feeling slightly lost for months.”
