Cat Power has unveiled plans to release her first album since 2008’s Jukebox.
Cat Power has unveiled plans to release her first album since 2008’s Jukebox.
‘Sun’, will be released on the 4th September through Matador (in the US), and is also, her first record compiled of original material since 2006’s ‘The Greatest’.
The album was also performed and produced by Chan Marshall herself in a number of locations, including a self-built Malibu studio.

Speaking to the The Stool Pigeon, Chan Marshall revealed that the album completion coincided with the break-up of her previous relationship with Giovanni Ribisi.
‘I cut my hair off three days [after the break-up], got on a plane to France, and finished the shit. It’s all good, you know. I love the person very much. I actually love this record very much, too. I’m very proud of it.’
