Charli XCX gets messy in ‘Break The Rules’ video

Charli XCX has revealed the video for her latest single ‘Break The Rules’.

All 90s teen movie stylings, complete with (messy) prom, a Rose McGowan cameo and a yellow school bus, the track is taken from Charli’s forthcoming full length ‘Sucker’, set to be released this October.

Charli spoke to DIY about the recording of ‘Sucker’, working with Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo on the album, and what it means to her in the August issue. It’s also readable online, here.

“I remember when I first began writing it I wanted to write an album that I would’ve been obsessed with when I was 14”, she said. “I would love to see a punk revolution, and loads of 14-year-old girls with shaved heads. I would love for girls to be able to celebrate this record.”
