Charli XCX is working on a new album that’s “so different” from ‘Sucker’

A few months on from ‘Sucker’’s drawn-out but eventual release, Charli XCX is well on her way to making a follow-up.

Saying she’s “over” this year’s LP (“I always want to move on to the next thing”), Charli told i-D that she’s already working on a third album, tentatively due out in 2016.

“It’s going to be so different from the last album,” she said. “It’s going to be the most pop thing, and the most electronic thing I’ve done. I started working in that way quite naturally, it just happened. This always happens, the second I put out the previous record I’m always over it.”

Charli also delved a bit deeper into her collaborations with SOPHIE, saying they’ve been working on “a few things.”

“We did a little trip to LA together to hang out and do some writing; I’m really excited about. It’s just ideas at the moment, but hopefully people will hear stuff next year,” she said.
