Braff-approved
Coldplay and Cat Power collaborate on ‘Wish I Was Here’ track
Song appears on Zach Braff’s film of the same name.
Zach Braff-directed twee blockbuster flick ‘Wish I Was Here’ has just fledged another song from its all-star soundtrack. This new cut is from Coldplay and Cat Power. Titled after the film, it was penned by Coldplay’s Chris Martin with vocal rights shared between him and Cat Power’s Chan Marshall.
The lumbering ballad links up with new songs from The Shins (‘So Now What’) and Bon Iver (‘Heavenly Father’). It was created after Chris Martin received an early version of the film by Braff, with the director declaring this to be his favourite contribution to the soundtrack.
More tracks are set to arrive from Hozier, Paul Simon and Allie Moss. The film itself is released on 18th July in US cinemas, with the soundtrack available for pre-order here.
