Courtney Barnett shares Jack White-produced The Boys Next Door cover, ‘Shivers’
Track is taken from White’s Third Man Blue Series.
Courtney Barnett has taken on a cover of Boys Next Door / The Birthday Party’s 1979 song ‘Shivers’, with none other than Jack White at the production desk.
The song appears as part of White’s Third Man Records’ Blue Series of singles, this latest entry being a stripped-back but jolting take on the original. It arrives several months on from the Aussie’s ‘Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit’ album, in what’s been a breakthrough year.
‘Shivers’ is set to match up with ‘Boxing Day Blues Revisited’, a new version of the song from Barnett’s 2015 LP. Both come out 16th October on Third Man.
