cumgirl8 announce details of debut album ‘the 8th cumming’
The New York quartet have also shared its lead single ‘Karma Police’.
New York quartet cumgirl8 have finally confirmed details of their debut album, ‘the 8th cumming’.
The band’s ten-track record is set to follow on from their debut self-titled EP, its 2021 follow-up ‘RIPcumgirl8’ and last year’s ‘phantasea pharm’ - which doubles as their first release via their current label home of 4AD - and is set for release on 4th October.
Recorded live, entirely using analogue methods, the band describe their first full-length as a “utopian, chaotic Greta Thunberg fever dream” rooted in cyberfeminism, with the album aiming “to examine our relationships with the online and physical world from an apocalyptic vantage point”. It’s also got a varied plethora of inspirations including - but not limited to - Miss Kittin, Delta 5, Throbbing Gristle, Ladytron, Nine Inch Nails, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Peaches, Björk and many more.
Along with the news of their album, the band have also shared its lead single, ‘Karma Police’ - and don’t worry, it isn’t actually a cover of Radiohead. Check out the scuzz-drenched yet synthy track below.
