daine announces debut project is coming next year

Confirming that her eagerly awaited debut project will be arriving early next year, emo-pop sensation daine is giving us a glimpse of what to expect, sharing a reworked version of ‘cemetery dreams’, the first song she released as daine.

“I recorded ‘cemetery dreams’ with a USB mic on my bed, and the guitar sample with my phone on the couch,” she explained. “I was caught up in a wide range of intense emotions during this period of my life. Struggling pretty badly with socialising, first ever breakup & the creeping onset of my chronic illnesses. Music was all I had at this moment in my life and it pulled through. I couldn’t be where I am now if ‘cemetery dreams’ didn’t happen. Of course, hearing it a few years later and a lot more matured, it’s beyond cringe to me - but rereleasing it feels like something I have to do to honour this part of my life and where it got me.”

“And also you guys (those diehard stans who remember) have been BEGGING me to drop it again,” daine continues. “It’s a lot cleaner now but still retains a humble teenage gawkiness that I outwardly cringe at, but internally, it’s very special to me.”
