Dalai Lama set to appear at Glastonbury Festival

A since-deleted post on his website suggests an appearance at the June event.

The Dalai Lama is expected to give a talk at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

A post, which has since been deleted, appeared on his official website stating that the Tibetan Buddhist leader would be giving a talk on the Sunday of the event, which runs from 26-28th June.

Despite the message being taken down, an appearance at Glastonbury still seems likely, with the man confirmed to appear at Kempton Racecourse in Middlesex on the Monday after the festival.

The message was screencapped by the Huffington Post before being deleted, indicating a talk on the last morning of the event is planned, and the appearance is likely to be confirmed along with the main line-up announcement, set for the Spring.

Lionel Richie is the only act to be confirmed for Glastonbury 2015 so far, performing in the famous Sunday afternoon Legends’ Slot, a position previously filled by the likes of Tom Jones and Leonard Cohen, and by Dolly Parton at 2014’s bash. Foo Fighters, AC/DC and Florence & The Machine are among those rumoured to be headlining this year’s festival.
