After getting mugged last year, Dan D’Lion decided to put his feelings of rage, fear and vulnerability in a big city into song. “It took me going through a bit of a dip to realise that I need some way of saying all the things I wouldn’t normally talk about,” he says of ‘Simmer Down”s creation. The new track is a never-settling anthemic alt-pop number, combining Dan’s impressive falsetto with a darker underlaying element as he questions “am I man enough?”
In the mesmerising accompanying visuals, Dan visually reflects the idea of paranoia in a big town, fighting with himself (literally) in front of a series of flashing lights.
The latest song added to his discography of modern, weirdo-pop, he’s got a new EP on the horizon and a headline show at London’s Camden Assembly set for 3rd October. Deffo not one to miss out on.
