Darwin Deez Showcases New Material In London

Following the appraisal received from their comeback single – ‘Free (The Editorial Me)’ – Darwin Deez returned to the capital last night, playing their first London show in over a year. The set-list is crafted of a mixture of brand new material, some crazy dance routines and the majority of tracks from their debut, eponymous album.

Throughout the set, there’s switching between old and new songs chromatically, as a test to see how well the new material already stands against the old, and by the looks of it, the band’s latest offerings were very well received.

Comprising proof of enhanced song writing skills and musicianship, witnessing frontman Darwin Smith swap between his trademark four-string electric guitar and a traditional six-string allowed for much more depth, as well as an array of unexpected jazzy Prince/Santana style guitar solos. Bringing the night to a close is the band’s now iconic ‘The Spring Dance’ set to The Thompson Twins’ 1982 hit ‘In The Name Of Love’, followed by an updated version of Darwin Deez fan-favourite ‘Bad Day’, providing the perfect reminder of just why everybody loves Darwin Deez.
