Deap Vally Announce Debut Album ‘Sistrionix’ Set For June

Recorded in Los Angeles with Lars Stalfors, Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards will release their debut on 24th June.

Deap Vally were one of the most raucous and electrifying acts in our Class of 2013 so, understandably, we’re really rather excited at the prospect of their debut album.

The pair’s first full-length, titled ‘Sistrionix’, has been officially confirmed for release on 24th June. They’ll also be releasing a brand new single ‘Baby I Call Hell’ on 17th June.

The tracklisting for their debut is as follows:

1. End Of The World
2. Baby I Call Hell
3. Walk Of Shame
4. Gonna Make My Own Money
5. Creeplife
6. Your Love
7. Lies
8. Bad For My Body
9. Women Of Intention
10. Raw Material
11. Six Feet Under

Recorded in Los Angeles with Lars Stalfors - the man behind albums from The Mars Volta and Matt & Kim - Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards have spent the last year working on material for their eleven-track debut, even when they’ve been on other sides of the Atlantic.

Speaking to DIY last month, Troy revealed that the pair spent their first experience writing separately recently, whilst Troy was in London and Julie in LA: “It was the first time we’d ever done writing apart, where we were sending each other ideas, emailing each other voice memos and stuff. And that was the start of some of the newer songs on the album, that we ended up finishing when I got back to LA. Songs always change anyway. One of us will have an idea, the other will have another idea… We definitely write most of our songs by jamming, flushing everything out until we complete it. Some of our songs are born out of a jam, but a lot of times we bring stuff, ideas that we already have to each other. So it wasn’t weird or anything like that. It worked out.”

The album also looks set to build upon the blistering raw feel that the duo had so embraced within their selection of singles. “It’s not over-produced at all,” Lindsey confirms, “And it’s pretty much a performance based album. Really raw and awesome.”

Deap Vally have also plotted a headline appearance in London, ahead of the album’s release, alongside an array of festival slots. Their full upcoming touring schedule is as follows.
