Deer Shed Announces First Bands For 2013: Darwin Deez & More
Gaz Coombes and Willy Mason are also amongst the first names confirmed.
Darwin Deez is heading up the first line up announcement for this year’s Deer Shed festival, which will take place from 19th - 21st July at Baldersby Park, Topcliffe, North Yorkshire.
Joining him will be Gaz Coombes, Willy Mason, The Unthanks, The Milk, Tubular Bells For Two, Stealing Sheep, Public Service Broadcasting, To Kill A King, Zervas And Pepper, Kitty The Lion, Blue Rose Code and Marconi Union.
Deez’ new album ‘Songs For Imaginative People’ will be released on 11th February. “It’s bit of a departure,” he told DIY, when we recently tracked him down for a chat. “It’s definitely rockier and wordier. It’s really cool - some of the same things which made the first album great are in this record.
“I just focus on what I want to - for instance making this album involved a lot of guitar playing. Influence wise; there were a lot of Thin Lizzy influences and I also have been massively influenced by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”
