Madrid rock ‘n roll newcomers are releasing their first single this July.

Deers air boozy, smoke-filled video for their debut 'Bamboo' single

Deers’ intentionally sluggish, rough-edged ‘Bamboo’ is a don’t-give-a-shit, rambling contender for 2014’s most off-the-cuff surprise success. The Madrid band uploaded the track on a whim this spring and two months later they’ve inked deals with Lucky Number Music (UK) and Mom + Pop (US).

Their new video for ‘Bamboo’ explains why. Beyond the constant shouting and whooping yelps, Deers are having a ridiculously good time. Here, they smoke and drink and jump and pout and pounce around the place. One extra nugget of information - it’s the first video they’ve ever made without a webcam. One small step at a time, etc.

Deers will play London’s Corsica Studios on 2nd September.

‘Bamboo’/‘Trippy Gum’ is out 28th July. Pre-order here
