Diet Cig preview debut EP with ‘Scene Sick’

Diet Cig, Alex Luciano and drummer Noah Bowman, formed only last summer but are already set to release their five-song debut EP ‘Over Easy’ in late February via San Franciscan label Father/Daughter Records (Happy Diving, Mutual Benefit, Small Wonder). Ahead of the EP the duo, hailing from New Paltz, NY, unveiled the gorgeous ‘Scene Sick’, which is something of a mammoth when it comes to debut tracks.

The ‘Over Easy’ EP was recorded on Halloween last year with Christopher Daly (Porches, Quarterbacks, Earl Boykins), five tracks of bubbling and immediate indie pop with a punk drive. Lead track ‘Scene Sick’ starts off with a simple drum beat before bringing the listener into Alex’s world, combining adolescent themes with earnest songwriting and delivery in under two minutes ‘Scene Sick’ is pop at its purest.
