Disclosure not involved in Band Aid 30 after all

Meanwhile, Adele “won’t pick up the phone” to Geldof

As Bob Geldof appeared at BBC HQ this afternoon to declare that Band Aid 30 has already raised “a million quid” for the fight against Ebola in West Africa, a representative for Surrey’s chart-bothering house-heads Disclosure made a very different announcement – declaring that their previously announced remix of the track is not going ahead after all.

“No planned remix or involvement of any kind, unfortunately” was the official line from the duo’s spokesman. It’s not the first announcement of its kind either, with Foals declaring their involvement unconfirmed, after initially being included in the list of artists partaking in the charity single. British-Ghanain rapper Fuse ODG also backed out of the project after feeling uncomfortable about the song’s lyrical content.

Adele, on the other hand, apparently just “won’t pick up the phone” according to Geldof. “Some people say no,” Geldof explained. “Adele on the other hand isn’t engaged in rock and roll, pop music, not picking up the phone to anyone. Brilliant.”
