DIY & Dr. Martens reveal final #STANDFORSOMETHING tour headliners
Tickets will go on sale this weekend.
Dr. Martens and DIY’s #STANDFORSOMETHING tour tickets are on sale now. Five cities host five shows with five amazing headliners who produce music from the heart. Over the autumn we’ll be bringing the party to Manchester, Bristol, London, Nottingham and Glasgow to give you the best Saturday night you’ve had all year.
This autumn, DIY is teaming up with Dr. Martens for the #STANDFORSOMETHING Tour: five gigs in five cities around the UK, showcasing some of the best bands we could get our hands on.
We’ve already revealed Young Guns as headlining The Louisiana in Bristol on 12th October, and Spector taking over London’s Birthdays on 26th October, and now we can bring you the rest.
Sonic Boom Six will be kicking things off in Manchester, before Lower Than Atlantis raise hell in Nottingham’s Spanky Van Dykes and, finally, the tour culminates with Dry the River playing Glasgow’s legendary King Tut’s.
This tour will also give a platform to a host of emerging support bands and talent from Dr. Martens’ partnership with music charity, Strummerville. Keep an eye out for more announcements on those soon.
In the meantime, tickets will go on sale this week - available over the counter in Dr. Martens stores from Saturday (31st August), and online via TicketWeb from Monday (2nd September). They’re just £5 each.
WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR, BARNEY BOOM (SONIC BOOM SIX)?
‘We stand for doing your own thing. It’s about being proud of who you are without worrying what everyone else thinks. That’s our approach to style, it’s our approach to music, it’s our approach to life. It’s about what you want to do, not what everyone expects you to do.’
WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR, MIKE DUCE (LOWER THAN ATLANTIS)?
‘Be yourself. I’d rather have people hate me for who I am, instead of pretending to be someone else. I always say on stage that if four normal idiots that came from nothing can do what we’re doing, then anyone can do it.’
WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR, SCOTT MILLER (DRY THE RIVER)?
‘Dry the River stands for encouraging people to have a good time, and enjoy some real music. We like to have a good time when we play, and we just hope that the people that come to the shows can as well.’
