DIY Weekly, 18th November 2013 - Feat. Gnarwolves, Eagulls, Royal Blood, More

DIY’s turning things up a few notches to show you the bands being louder, now.

The new DIY Weekly is turning things up a dial (or several). These bands are here to shift the system, cause a stir. They’re being louder, now.

Bleeding into the mainstream like nobody’s business and taking over the blogs, the bands in rock’s newest breed are covering all ground and plan on taking over.

Raised on a diet of pizza and skate punk, Gnarwolves head up DIY’s ‘This Ain’t A Scene’ issue. Their career has gone stratospheric in the past few months - they’re here to claim that ‘there’s more to us than silly jokes and pop punk.’

Joining Gnarwolves is Royal Blood, a Brighton pair of raucous giants willing to upset the rock royalty throne.

Riding off their ‘Backroads’ EP, Lonely The Brave offer the secret to selling out headline dates and triumphing at Reading Festival.

Joining the loud crew are Marmozets, State Champs, Radkey and more. It’s an issue chock-full of intense, ear-splitting bands.

Leeds’ Eagulls aren’t exactly turning things down a notch. Ahead of their debut album release, the band give word on rotting brains for music videos and finally landing on their long-awaited full-length.

Classical influences come full circle for Ellie Ludwig-Leone’s San Fermin - he talks to DIY about bringing a huge collective together to make his self-titled debut.

DIY catches up with Metz and East India Youth in News, ahead of UK dates and debut albums respectively. Cheatahs also offer up their top 5 fictional musical bands, because they can.

In Neu, Jaakko Eino Kalvi is in the spotlight, while Croatian R&B star Tamara Saul provides an exclusive mix.

Blood Orange, Death Grips and Kurt Vile are among those getting the DIY verdict in Reviews, and we head off to see The National, Banks and The Dillinger Escape Plan for some heaving live dates.

It’s all yours, for exactly zero pence. Grab the issue on iTunes to download the iPad version, or simply read the whole thing on Issuu online, right now.
