Sync when you're winning
DZ Deathrays stream new track ‘Less Out Of Sync’
DZ Deathrays debut the track in the build up to the release of new album ‘Black Rat’.
DZ Deathrays have unveiled the next cut to be taken from their forthcoming full-length, ‘Black Rat’: ‘Less Out of Sync’ will be released on 18th - the same day as the album itself. The track follows on from previous single ‘Reflective Skull’.
The duo - who are playing 2000trees in Cheltenham this weekend - see the new album as a progression of their last. “I kinda wanted it to be an extension of the first record,” the band’s Shane Parsons explains, “but just a little bit tighter.
“Song-wise, there’s a bit more structure to them. The songs we had on the first album were just all live songs, that we had written and played live, recorded it how they were played live and nothing really changed. Whereas this time, we sort of let go of everything.”
‘Black Rat’ was recorded over six weeks at The Grove studio in Australia, with producer Burke Reid. “We recorded at the beginning of the year,” says Shane, “and it’s good now we can focus on that. I’m already looking forward to writing new songs and trying to get another record out as soon as possible.”
Fans can also catch the band at LeeFest and Truck festival this month, as well as a handful of dates including a stop at the Old Blue Last in London. Later in the year they’ll be back for Beacons in Skipton, Reading & Leeds, and a few more headline gigs.
