Efterklang stream ‘The Last Concert’ online
The footage features - surprisingly enough - the band’s final live gig “as we know it”.
Back in February, Danish indie types Efterklang performed ‘The Last Concert’; “one final show to celebrate them all,” as a statement described, “the last concert with Efterklang as you and we know it.” In short, a big, bombastic theatrical event at Sønderborg’s Alsion Concert Hall, the band backed by the South Denmark Philharmonic orchestra (Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester) and South Denmark Girls’ Choir (Sønderjysk Pigekor), featuring arrangements from the likes of Van Dyke Parks and kept together by conductor Hans Ek.
The whole performance was documented by Parisian film-maker Vincent Moon, and the resulting video is now streaming online, with Efterklang also taking time to point out “We called it The Last Concert, but we are indeed still here…”
