ELEL preview debut album with giddy new ‘40 Watt’ video
Nashville 8-piece are a sunny side up, exciting new prospect.

It sneaked into the spotlight, but ELEL’s ‘40 Watt’ single is fast becoming a staple of the coming months, a giddy reminder that sometimes sheer excitability can win the day.
Led by Ben Elkins, the Nashville-based 8 piece bring steel pans, high-pitched vocals and enough positive vibes to render World Cup fever nothing but a slight tremor. Taken from their debut album ‘Geode’ (out later this year), the lead track’s just picked up a suitably sunny side up new video, premiering on DIY.
The new clip - directed by Elkins - casts the band in strange cult settings and sunshine-glazed forestry. Their intentions are fairly clear - to clap hands, jump around and have as much of a good time as possible. There’s even a curious encounter with the FBI - this video has everything, you see.

ELEL play this year’s Bonnaroo Festival (12th-15th June).
Featuring Yard Act, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Maisie Peters and more.
