Elton John loves Whitney, interviewed Julien Ehrlich

Chicago band Whitney have one hell of a famous fan. Elton John, who claims the band’s debut album ‘Light Upon the Lake’ is one of his favourite of the year, is so crazy for Whitney he decided to interview vocalist / drummer Julien Ehrlich for the New York Times.

In a wide-spanning interview, they spoke about Elton’s decision to have kids (“You can’t plan the future - the future plans itself”) and some of 2016’s best albums. Julien cited Frank Ocean’s ‘Blonde’ as his favourite (“It will always induce tears,”) while Elton professed his love for Rosie Lowe, The Lemon Twigs and Nao.

They concluded by talking about Bob Dylan, after he won this year’s Nobel Prize for literature. “[…] he’s been the voice of America from the ’60s and he still has something to say,” Elton said. “Of course he should get [the prize]. I think it’s brilliant.”
