EMA unveils punk demo version of ‘False Flag’
Politically charged blast of noise is a “lost generation take on 9/11”.
The future’s fucked, not just void, according to Erika Anderson aka EMA. Her latest track links in with the past, however - specifically the years following U.S. national tragedy 9/11.
‘False Flag’ is a thrashing, off-the-cuff blast of noise that’s as fierce as they come. EMA calls it a “lost generation take on 9/11”, and it includes politically charged lyrics like “take all of the war and peace and nail them to the wall / and then erect a false flag to justify it all.”
Anderson put on the track on Twitter and it’s been uploaded alongside a sparkly stars and stripes flag, but the message behind the track is pretty clearly, as it damns the abuses of power taken on by the Bush government following September 11.
