Emeli Sande Comes Out On Top At The MOBOs
Emeli Sande picks up the most awards at this years MOBOs with Best Album, Best Female and Best R&B/Soul Artists
2012 has certainly been quite the year for Emeli Sande. Number 1 singles and album, being the omnipresent musical face of the Olympics, collaborating with about every name in the mainstream music scene; and now she has scooped three awards at this years’ MOBOs.
Picking up the award for Best Album with ‘Our Version Of Events’, she also won Best Female and Best R&B;/Soul Artist at the ceremony which celebrates music of black origin.
Her wins come in the wake of being crowned Number One in the UK Singles Chart last week, featuring on Labrinth’s track ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’. Labrinth also walked away with the MOBO for Best Song with ‘Earthquake’ featuring Tinie Tempah.
Other winners of the night included Plan B who won Best Male and Best Hip Hop/Grime artist, while Best Newcomer went to Rita Ora and Dionne Warwick won the MOBO Lifetime Achievement gong.
