Emmy the Great takes the plunge on ‘Rapids’

The new single follows the release of ‘Second Love’ earlier in the year.

After releasing her album ‘Second Love’ in March, Emmy the Great has unveiled her brand new single ‘Rapids.’

The song reflects on Emma Lee-Moss’s relationship with music, which she says has been her “longest relationship.” So ‘Rapids’ is a “love song to music” itself, although when hearing her singing about tumbling across the crashing waves of the rapids, it doesn’t sound like things have always been smooth sailing.

“The song ended up being about that tussle with music, about a question I am asking myself now- am I going to keep this relationship going or do I let it go? Could I even let it go?” she continued. It’s pretty deep.

The single also suggests that there will be some more music from Emmy in the near future. “I see it as the right link between Second love and what comes next. Watch this space for more, I guess,” she says.
