Erin LeCount shares new single ‘DON’T YOU SEE MY TRYING?’
The track gets lifted from the pop star’s forthcoming new EP ‘PAREIDOLIA’, which is due for release later this month.

Rising pop star Erin LeCount has shared a fresh taste of her forthcoming new EP, ‘PAREIDOLIA’. Inspired by the “euphoria of self-sabotaging just when things get good”, ‘DON’T YOU SEE ME TRYING?’ is a serene, orchestral-flecked offering that follows on from her recent singles, ‘I BELIEVE’, ‘MACHINE GHOST’, and ‘808 HYMN’.
The track - as written and produced by Erin herself - is about “the danger and joy of giving in to old habits, the manic impulse to throw it all away, a reckless abandon and invitation back into a downwards spiral. A heavy synth bass behind frenzied live strings and fractured vocal chops - sonically flying and lyrically falling. It is a cathartic confession of relapse with no desire to be rescued.” It gets lifted from her forthcoming six-track EP, which is due for release on 27th February via Atlantic Records.
Speaking further of the EP, Erin has said: “’PAREIDOLIA’ is a self-written and produced EP that tells the story of a downward spiral. The tale of falling down a rabbit hole, a willing return to self destruction. The true definition of ‘pareidolia’ is “the tendency to perceive meaningful connections between unrelated things or ideas” eg. seeing shapes in clouds, or a face in the moon. It is a distorted, warped perspective of reality and of self, it’s the brain’s way of seeking familiar patterns that make us feel safe. I have lived vicariously through these songs the last year, crafting them in their intensity and heart and impulse, writing through that distorted lens and playing the unreliable, occasionally paranoid narrator over heavy synth basses, relentless live strings and synthetic shimmery harps.”
Alongside the news of her new release, Erin has also announced plans for her biggest set of UK live shows yet, which include an appearance at London’s Roundhouse in May. Tickets will go on general sale from 10am GMT on Friday 18th February.
