Erin LeCount - Pareidolia

It confirms her as both rising talent and artist with a bold, singular vision.

Erin LeCount - Pareidolia

Named after the psychological phenomenon that sees the brain impose meaning onto chaos, ‘PAREIDOLIA’ is a striking, self-assured statement Erin LeCount. At just 23, the Essex newcomer channels the theatricality of Kate Bush and Fiona Apple into a sleek, contemporary pop framework that feels entirely her own. Across brooding synth bass, swooning live strings and glassy electronic flourishes, she traces a willing descent into self-sabotage, positioning herself as a paranoid, unreliable narrator throughout this dark, diaristic six-track collection.

The EP finds Erin embracing a more otherworldy tone: see ‘808 HYMN’, which pairs confessional lyrics with brooding synths and haunting orchestral arrangements. “When I was young, I thought the moon was walking me home,” she sings, confronting the loss of youthful naivety and the stark truths of adulthood with clarity. On opener ‘I BELIEVE’ lush, synth-driven production frames her haunting vocals and introspective lyricism, creating a sound that’s both sweeping and intimate. It demands attention, confirming Erin LeCount as both rising talent and artist with a bold, singular vision.
