Ex-Hole Guitarist Claims Kurt Cobain Recorded A Lost Solo Album
Eric Erlandson has revealed that the Nirvana frontman had recorded an entire album’s worth of material before death.

Ex-Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson has revealed that he believes Kurt Cobain recorded an entire album’s worth of solo material before the singer’s death in 1994.
Speaking to American TV station Fuse, Erlandson said: “[Cobain] was headed in a direction that was really cool. It would have been his ‘White Album’. That’s really what he was going towards, a solo album but working with different people. I was really excited about some of the stuff he was working on. I got to see him play it in front of me. That’s why I was really sad when he died. He was cut short. Who knows where this music would have gone?”
However, whether or not any of this material will ever be released is in dispute. “I’m not in control of things. I just wish something would come together. I think the fans would be a lot happier. If nobody ever hears those songs, except for like three people, then that’s the way it goes. I heard some talk about somebody putting together some raw, rough acoustic thing.
In the meantime, Hole recently reunited on Saturday night (14th April) for a special set after drummer Patty Schemel’s documentary ‘Hit So Hard’ was screened in New York.
The aftershow party saw Trinity Jam perform - the band made up of Schemel, Melissa Auf Der Maur, and Erlandson - before Courtney Love, who ‘just happened’ to be in town, joined the band onstage.
