Fall Out Boy reign supreme on new track ‘Champion’
Post Malone and a bunch of people dressed as llamas feature in its “visualizer”.
Emo kings Fall Out Boy are back, back, back with a new
album, ‘M A N I A’, coming out on 15th September, which is frankly a bit too
far off.
Luckily they’re keeping us topped up with a few new tunes to
keep us from wilting with anticipation on the long stretch until the album is
released. They’ve already shared the vibey new single ‘Young and Menace’ and
now they’re back with another cut! Oh, you shouldn’t have!
They’ve shared ‘Champion’, and a “visualizer”. It’s quite
something really. Pete Wentz hits the skatepark with R&B-rapper Post Malone
and they go for a bit of a trip, grinding, kick flipping and more (get yer Tony
Hawk lingo out). Oh and for some reason there’ a lot of people around wearing
llama costumes. Well, the video for ‘Young and Menace’ was inspired by ‘Elf’ so
weirder things have definitely happened.
At the time the album was announced, the band told Zane Lowe
on Beats 1 about the album: “I wanted to experiment - how do you make something
that sounds futuristic, and ahead, with all these traditional elements”.
Listen to ‘Champion’ via the visualizer below.
With Bob Vylan, St Vincent, girl in red, Lizzy McAlpine and more.
