Feist initiates a dance battle in the video for ‘Century’

Jarvis Cocker also makes an appearance in the clip.

Back in April, Feist released her long-awaited new album ‘Pleasure’, and one of the (many) highlights was a cosmic, swirling single called ‘Century’ that featured the vocal talents of Jarvis Cocker – he told us just how many seconds are in a hundred years, just so you know.

Jarvis does make an appearance in the song’s new video, which has been directed by Scott Cudmore. It’s a pretty intense clip, as Feist and her gang encounter a rival group led by… Feist? Or is it just a look-alike? It’s quite hard to tell…

Anyway, they lead a dance battle that actually does turn into fisticuffs, before they all seem to start getting along and pulling some shapes in tandem.

And no, Jarvis doesn’t bust out any moves. He kind of stares emotionlessly into the distance as he recites his lines and appears to move through the void. It’s all a bit ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ really…

Watch the video for ‘Century’ below.

Feist will play Lowlands (18th-20th August), where DIY is an official media partner. Tickets are on sale now. Visit diymag.com/presents for more information.
