Neu Pick
Fine Print up the tension with their ‘Snakes’ single
Brooding, glitchy ode to “snakes in the grass” is today’s Neu Pick.
Discontent flows throughout Fine Print’s new single ‘Snakes’. Pairing sparse, brooding electronics with a wearied lyrical nod to those “lying to our faces”, it’s a haunting listen.
The track’s video pulls no punches either. Footage of all manner of politicians and journalists on trial is juxtaposed with that of crowds of protesters, bubbling over in their hatred of the status quo. “Justice is for some,” they state, and when linked up with the cold, static-laced footage on offer, it’s hard to disagree.
Fine Print’s self-titled debut EP was released back in August - ‘Snakes’ is a stop-gap to round off their year, and a mightily polished one too. Stream it below.
