Foals announce departure of bassist Walter Gervers
He’s off to “pursue a new life” as the band work on LP5.

Foals have announced that bassist Walter Gervers has left the band.
In a hand-written statement posted on social media, the band explain he’s off “to pursue a new life”, and “wish him well in his future endeavours.”
“We had 12 amazing years touring together from a small postal van to the Pyramid Stage and beyond. It’s the end of a chapter but not the end of the book.”
The band close the statement by confirming they’re working on their fifth album, the follow-up to 2015’s ‘What Went Down’. “It’s gonna to be the best yet,” they say.
