Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis suffers vocal injury, “sounds like Phil Mitchell”
Band pull out of a Radio 1 Live Lounge slot.
Foals frontman Yannia Philippakis has suffered a vocal injury, resulting in the band pulling a scheduled slot on Radio 1 Live Lounge.
The ‘What Went Down’ band were due to cover Florence + The Machine for a live session, but the group announced their cancellation, with Yannis saying: “Think i snapped my larynx.”
Drummer Jack Bevan says Yannis “sounds like Phil mitchel [sic] after a tracheostomy. Sorry to anyone who was listening. Old mate is off to the doctors now.”
Foals’ fourth album is currently in a chart battle with The Weeknd’s ‘Beauty Behind the Madness’. In the midweek update, it was less than 5,000 copies ahead of Abel Tesfaye’s second LP.
