Foo Fighters announce huge gig at Athens’ Acropolis
The band will be hopping over to the Greek capital to perform on the historical landmark this month.

We all know how much Foo Fighters love to rock out so it should come as little surprise that they’ve added yet another massive show to their touring schedule this summer. The only catch, however, is that it’s gonna be on a Greek historical landmark…
That’s right: the Foos are all set to play live from the Acropolis in Athens later this month. Following their stint at this coming weekend’s Mad Cool Festival in Madrid, they’ll be hopping over to the Greek capital for what’s being called “a rare rock performance at the historical site.” It’s set to take place on Monday 10th July and, unsurprisingly, tickets are already sold out.
Their set is due to filmed as part of American network PBS’ documentary series, Landmarks Live In Concert, which - unsurprisingly - shows off musicians playing live in concerts, on - you got it! - landmarks across the world. If that doesn’t sound bizarre enough, it’s presented by Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Chad Smith. Yep…
Elsewhere in recent Foos news, the band have confirmed a huge London show at the O2 Arena on 19th September, around the release of their new album ‘Concrete and Gold’.
Watch the video for its lead track ‘Run’ below.
