All rise!
Foo Fighters share first eight seconds of their new album
One solitary scream from Dave Grohl is enough to set the pulse racing.
Finally, after all the build-up and the talk of cities and tributes and all-American extravaganzas, Foo Fighters have shared the first eight seconds from their eighth studio album.
The timing makes sense - it’s the 8th of August, the eighth month, today - and let’s be honest, given the sheer intensity of this opening gambit, this has probably been difficult to sit on.
It’s a pure, unhinged scream from Dave Grohl, bowing down to the command: “All rise!”
Eight seconds’ worth of music rarely gets this exciting.
Foo Fighters’ eighth album is due out in November, with more details TBA.
Last month completion on the album was confirmed via a tweet from producer Butch Vig. He described the record as “epic” following 23 straight days of mixing.
The Foos make their UK live return on 14th September at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London.
