Can you feel the energy?
Well, that might be the vibes coming from the upcoming new Four Tet album, which Kieran Hebden announced in a very unassuming, low-key post on his Instagram account very, very recently. ‘New Energy’ – which is landing on 29th September (this month!!) – is already set to contain a clutch of previously-released tracks, including ‘Planet’, ‘SW9 9SL’ and the aptly-named ‘Two Thousand and Seventeen’, proving that he had something greater up his sleeve all along.
Now with just a couple of weeks to go until the whole LP lands, Kieran’s gone and dropped another track! ‘Scientists’ is a slightly mellow affair that’s got some propulsive beats and hi-hats but remains mostly contemplative, even containing a little bit of birdsong. Well, that is until some free-wheeling brass comes along.
Listen to ‘Scientists’ below.
